The Second Maryland Company A is not just a military unit. We participate and
perform our own living history. The unit was founded on an emphasis on family,
something that can be rare in the reenacting community.
There is more to reenacting than fighting the battles, in fact, most of
the time the military members are in camp rather than fighting. They find ways
to enjoy themselves in period games, such as chess.
The women in the unit are a crucial role to the reenacting experience. They
help demonstrate the rough life lead by a Southern woman and take pains, even
more so than men, to make sure everything they have and do is authentically period.
If you are interested in re-enacting with the Maryland Inf. Co. A please contact us. We would be glad to speak to you.
